The Lies We Tell

We all tell lies
Some small
Some bigger
Some out of fear to protect ourself
Some out of fear to protect someone else
Some lies we tell because we believe it's the better choice

Underneath all the lies is the primitive, basic need for protection, safety and belonging
A fear of judgement, shame, guilt, all the things in order to speak our truth

What lie might you be telling right now?
Maybe you are only lying to yourself
Maybe you are also lying to other people
Maybe you aren't even aware of the lie you are telling

I invite you to take a deep breath
Allow yourself to drop out of your head and into your body
Where is the lie living in your body?
What sensations show up?

Breathe into those sensations

What is the lie protecting?
What is the underlying fear here to show you?
What truth is underneath it all?
What are you afraid of saying?

Give it a voice - let the sounds and words come through

What if in loving and accepting the fear, you were able to confidently speak your truth?
Grounded in who you are rather than who they tell you to be?

Let it all move through you

What would happen if and when you free yourself from speaking lies?
What would happen when you spoke your truth out loud and people heard it?

Dance it out
Shake and scream and move and sound it all out
Breathe life into the fears and lies and all that it is
Journal it out

What are the lies you keep telling and are ready to let go of?
What are your truths you keep hiding and are ready to share?

What impulse or action is calling forth from this inquiry?
Allow that impulse
Follow it

Let your truth be free
