Pour It Out
Imagine there is a container filled deep within you
Maybe it's an old chest, a glass bottle, a cauldron, a cage
Whatever you see - it's yours
Hidden, forgotten, unexplored until now
Filled with anger and rage
Sadness and disappointment
Hurt and shame
Pain and suffering
Judgments and fears
All the things unsaid
So many things we tucked away deep inside
Trying to be socially appropriate and fit in
Fearing judgment and ridicule
Punishment and death
As time goes on we hide more and more things unsaid
Maybe they seep out into our lives in unexpected ways
We don’t even know they're wanting to come out
We've forgotten we've hidden them
Until one day they unleash without us knowing it
Hitting maximum capacity and things in our life change drastically
Like a volcano bubbling under the surface
And then one day erupting - spewing and destroying
What if we took the time to consciously sit with whatever container you have placed all the unsaid things in?
What does the container look like and feel like?
When you open it, what is inside?
What wants to be heard, honored, acknowledged - even if it’s just in your own mind, journal, private physical space?
I’m not saying you go and say all the unsaid things to all the people directly.
I invite you to setup a private physical space,
Open the container and let all the unsaid things out into the open rather than hiding them
Just like when decluttering a closet or any other physical space
Move them. Touch them. Breath with them. Express them.
Notice if you want to keep these unsaid things anymore or if you’re ready to let them go.
What wants to be said that you haven’t let yourself say?
Pour it out. Write it out. Dance it out. Breath and sound it out.
Noticing how you feel once you’ve said the things to yourself.
Maybe now that you’ve really looked at what is unsaid, you decide it needs to actually be said to someone.
What comes up as you feel into telling that person?
Do you really need to say it to the actual person?
Or can you imagine that person in front of you and tell them all the things unfiltered
Still in the safety of your own space?
What are you still holding onto that you know is ready to go - that no longer serves you?
What do you still want to keep contained and hidden - now that you know it’s there?
What are you desiring instead?
Maybe it’s your truth of power, magic, playfulness, love, compassion, freedom, something else.
Notice that. Lean into it. Allow your desires to fill up the container at the same time as holding onto the things unsaid that aren’t ready to be released.
What comes up as the two mix together?
How does your body move?
How does your breath move?
How do you move now that it's been said?
You get to have it all.
You get to Be it all.
You are it all.
