Death as a Playground

A dropping into the exploration, wonderment, and play in and through the portal of Death and the remembering of the Truth of who you are.

The Journey Begins March 25, 2023.

There are many ways to approach and be in the depths of loss, grieving and death

Loss and the accompanying grief is one of the deepest processes a human can go through

There are little losses - anywhere someone is still hanging on and it's time to let go

There are big losses - those experiences that devastate and break a heart wide open

Grief is an incredibly deep, sensitive, very beautiful, and essential part of life

Within grief, there are a whole range of emotions that can be felt

Such as despair, misery, depression, bitterness, resentment, and rage

Within that is also the potential experiences of ecstasy, bliss, hopefulness, joy, and a re-birthing

For some people, this is a freeing, relieving, spacious new beginning

For others, it's a time of re-evaluation, decisions, and re-arranging

For many, it's getting lost and overwhelmed in the black hole of emotions and thoughts

Grief and loss are unpredictable

It's a meeting of the void inside of us

Each person's journey is unique

Each death a person experiences, whether big or small, is also distinct

Whether it's grieving the death of a loved one

The end of a long-term intimate relationship

The shifting of community and friendships

The changing of jobs or careers

The the end of our own physical form as we know it

The curiosity of Death itself

Or something else

Rather than letting it overtake us

What if we had a space to play and explore and excavate the deeper knowing and lessons that this transition point is here to show us?

Not to make light or fun of the experience of death

But to question what Society has shown us Death is and has to be

In society, we've kept our death rituals on the surface

Often a formal, mourning affair

In which we often get stuck in the black hole of our emotions and thoughts

We often keep it all to ourselves

Sometimes we seek help and support

Only to find no one is able to hold us in the depths of it all

Often having to turn around and hold the other person who is supposed to be holding us

Many of us are left wondering

"Why me?"

"What's next?"

"What now?"

“Will anyone miss me when I’m gone?”

"How do I live life fully now that I've experienced death?"

In grieving, we've left out the primal, raw depths of truly feeling everything

In and through our bodies

In a full allowing and opening

With exploration and wonderment

Fully acknowledging and honoring all that is showing up

In the death of our life as we knew it

Of all that we were

And all that we thought we had to be

With a lens of wonder, curiosity, and full allowing of all that is showing up

To mourn and cry

To shake and shed

To breath or not

To celebrate and honor

To regret and forgive

To play and explore

To dance in pleasure within the pain

To notice we are not alone

And to remember the life that is created

From the death and destruction of what was

As relationships end

We grieve the loss

We evaluate what we want to keep

We decide what our next relationship will be

And ultimately who we are choosing to BE next

As we say goodbye to loved ones as they pass from this human form

We remember the love

We evaluate the regrets

We explore who we are in having had this person in our life

We choose who we are being moving forward with them no longer in our physical space

In our own transitions in life

Where we stand at the line between life and death

Questioning the legalities, formalities, relationships

Whether we will be missed

How we will be remembered

Feeling like a failure

And unfinished dreams

We're usually not attuned to the re-birthing gift of death

Where we get to grieve and also honor and respect that death is always making way for something else

What if death got to be this playground upon which we create and live?

We can look through the lens at destruction and feel a sense of loss and powerlessness

Or we can dive deep and shift the lens

Seeing the art and beauty in the destruction

That in clearing out the old

We can cultivate the new

  • A new moment

  • A new breath

  • A new day

  • A new identity

  • A new relationship

  • A new job/career

  • A new sense of peace and freedom

  • A new desire for aliveness and power

  • Whatever we choose

So that all that we are now being nudged into Being

Germinates and breaks ground in the fertile soil of the destruction

And grows into the new phase of the life of our choosing

We often are trained that grieving and loss is a private matter

And to some degree it is

For each of our experiences are our own unique journey

There is another level though

Where we drop into the grief and pain of it all

Instead of just talking about it or ignoring it

When we are held in a space of non-judgement for all that we are experiencing

When we sit in curiosity and exploration with all that is showing up for us

When we allow ourselves to fully unleash the rawness we are feeling

This is an invitation for you

To drop into Death

Into the grief, loss, pain, hurt, sadness

Into the destruction

Into the black hole of emotions

Into the exploration of what's on the other side of it all

Into the inquiries and the impulses and celebrations

Into the experiments of weaving in and out of pleasure and sexual life force energy

Into the choosing of who you want and are being called into next

Not from being in your head

But from being in your body

To play in the wonderment of Death

Whatever that is for you in this moment
